Dutchess BOCES Board of Education seeks input on new district superintendent


The Dutchess BOCES Board has spent time carefully reviewing options available to fill the vacancy in the Office of the District Superintendent. Our Board has attained the assistance of Dr. David O’Rourke, District Superintendent from the Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, who serves as Chair of the District Superintendents of New York State, and Dr. Jonah Schenker, District Superintendent at the Ulster BOCES, to serve as search consultants to the Board as we seek to hire an outstanding candidate as our next District Superintendent. SPC’s Field Day is fun for all

Students and teachers at Salt Point Center (SPC) came together June 11 for Field Day where they tossed rings, raced in potato sacks and played a version of tic tac toe, involving dropping dolls in buckets of water.


Event honors employees’ achievements

Passing under the balloon arch, their tassels turned to the left, the students couldn’t wait to embrace their family and friends after an inspirational ceremony.


SPC moving up ceremony highlights students' progress

The audience applauds as the eighth graders who are moving up proceed down the aisle.Elizabeth Ayala Sambolin couldn’t help but get emotional as she watched Salt Point Center’s Eighth Grade Moving Up Day Ceremony Thursday.She thought back to what her son, Daniel Sambolin, was like when he first stepped into the school as an 8-year-old with autism. Thursday, she watched him wear a graduate’s cap and gown.


CTI celebrates Class of 2024 at Recognition Night

Cheers and applause filled the MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center as families and friends celebrated 302 Career and Technical Institute seniors at Recognition Night June 12.
While students attend classes in 16 different trades, the strong community was evident throughout the night with hugs between teachers and students, cheers for classmates and smiles all around.
