During March, International Women’s Month, we will be highlighting female students who are studying a trade at the Career and Technical Institute.  The demand for these skilled, reliable, high paying jobs is high and expected to increase.


SPC Honors Black History Month

 

                                      

Students at Dutchess BOCES’ Salt Point Center are learning about historical African American figures through fun and creative activities to celebrate Black History Month.


Virtual Learning Academy is thriving

 

While remote learning has been tough for some, it is just right for students in Dutchess BOCES’ Virtual Academy. The academy was created for students whose districts determined they could not return to the classroom because of the COVID-19 virus. It started small, but now has about 55 students, ranging from K-12, from various school districts. It continues to grow.


Team BOCES takes the “Plunge”

Dutchess BOCES staff and students raised an incredible $17,954 for the Special Olympics by jumping into the cold waters of Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill on February 19 during the annual Polar Plunge. BOCES employees have participated, collecting pledges for their bravery, since 2015.


BOCES debates are back

High school students were back at Dutchess Community College (DCC) to participate in the Fall/Winter Dutchess BOCES Debate, after two years without in-person debates due to COVID-19.


Dutchess BOCES offering new eSports service

Dutchess BOCES is launching a new eSports service that will provide school districts the opportunity to enter teams into the world of organized, competitive, video gaming.  Esports, or electronic sports, require critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity that can help support academic performance.


Updated COVID-19 Protocols In Place

“Test to Stay” needs parent permission

Dutchess BOCES is changing some COVID-19 protocols due to new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the state and local health departments.
