BOCES New Deputy Superintendent Set To Start
Becoming Dutchess BOCES new deputy superintendent is more than a career move for Salvador Contes Jr. It taps into his passion for creating partnerships and connecting with people.
Contes, who prefers to be called Sal, noted that this “is the perfect position for me as it gives me the opportunity to create partnerships with the community.”
Forty students from Dutchess BOCES’ Career & Technical Institute (CTI) are ready to compete in the New York State SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championships April 22-24 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. This year marks the largest number of students ever attending.
As part of the Salt Point Center’s (SPC) ongoing commitment to fostering student engagement and leadership, it has launched a weekly in-house broadcast where students share about what’s happening in their building.

EMT Teacher Danielle Bohlmann and her students have a new tool to help them learn the skills needed to become EMTs with the installation of an ambulance simulator in the classroom. BOCES invested $65,000 to purchase the unit and have it installed.
