The academy was created for students whose districts determined they could not return to the classroom because of the COVID-19 virus. It started small, but now has about 55 students, ranging from K-12, from various school districts. It continues to grow.
Dutchess BOCES staff and students raised an incredible $17,954 for the Special Olympics by jumping into the cold waters of Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill on February 19 during the annual Polar Plunge. BOCES employees have participated, collecting pledges for their bravery, since 2015.
