Districts are responsible for providing staff and approved substitute information.   • Central Human Resource Office Support- Management and Staff*

    Dutchess BOCES will provide support to districts with two resources: a human resources manager to oversee the human resource function and to supervise local support personnel, and shared support personnel.

    A HR manager may oversee hiring of new staff and processing of staff records; provide information for the administration and negotiation of the collective bargaining agreements,coordinate the evaluation process; serve as Title IX, DASA, Sexual harassment, 504 officer, and manage benefits, for example. Services provided by support personnel may include; data tracking and management, monitoring and reporting human resource information, employment evaluation system management, employee appointment, tenure and layoff tracking, compliance issues and file management. Support staff for a human resource office can be deployed to maintain increasing levels of accountability, function and compliance. *SED Approval Pending.

  • Coaching Licenses

    The Human Resources Office provides a local contact with SED's Office of Teaching Initiatives to facilitate timely processing of teaching certificates, and coaching licenses. Teaching certificate and coaching license applications are reviewed by the Regional Certification Office, and sent to Albany for formal approval and issuance of the credential.     The Dignity for All Students Act defines harassment as the creation of a hostile environment by conduct or by verbal threats, intimidation or abuse that has or would have the effect of unreasonably or substantially interfering with a students’ educational performance, opportunities or benefits, or mental, emotional or physical well-being or conduct, verbal threats, intimidation or abuse that reasonably causes or would reasonably be expected to cause a student to fear for his or her physical safety.

  • Employee Assistance Program

    Participating district's employees and their families receive assistance to resolve personal problems that impair job performance. These problems range from alcoholism to substance abuse to family/marital and financial/legal difficulties. The BOCES employs a social worker/counselor who provides specific assistance to employees and members of their immediate families. Employees are eligible to receive several sessions at no cost. Additional service may be rendered by referral to other agencies. This service is eligible for BOCES aid. ESI - Employee Assistance Group

  • Family Medical Leave Act

  • In-Service Credit

    In-Service Credits are only available to teachers and may be requested for professionally related events attended outside of school hours and at no cost to the BOCES. Mandated courses and regularly scheduled conferences do not qualify. Ten base hours must be earned each year before additional hours can become eligible for payment at the rate of three times the current credit rate per 15 hours earned with those remaining carrying over to the following year. One time payments are made at the end of June with the submission cutoff date being June 1st.

  • Medicaid Reimbursement

    BOCES assists component districts to maximize their Medicaid reimbursements and compliance with reimbursement guidelines. This service maintains comprehensive records to support Medicaid reimbursement claims in the event of an audit, submits required claims for reimbursement and follows up inquiries received from the Regional Information Center, state and federal offices.     The Online Application System for Educators is a cloud-based application serving school districts throughout New York State. Districts can view applicant specific information: resumes, cover letters, transcripts, portfolios, and more. Candidates are able to apply to specific positions using one application and/or have an option of granting all participating school districts access to their application. OLAS

  • Teacher Certification
  • Teacher Graduate Credit

    1. All credits shall be paid in 3 credit groups. No change shall be made in compensation for those credits heretofore paid in groups of 10. Credits are paid in groups of 10 after BA+60 or after MA+30. Proof of credits awarded must be filed by October 1 to become effective during the fall semester, and by March 1 to become effective during the spring semester.

    2. Credits shall be compensated at the following rate per credit hour : 2014 – 2015 = $74.00

    3. Credit payments shall not be made for undergraduate credits.
