Alternative High School Mission Statement
The Dutchess BOCES Special Education and Alternative Education Division believe that all students are capable of learning. While recognizing that students placed in our charge have not always experienced success in school prior to attending BOCES, it is our firm conviction that we will foster success for each child. The mission is to help each student become a more productive member of society and upon program departure: • have knowledge of basic life skills • have the ability to work within the structure of society and stay within the parameters of socially accepted norms • be respectful to themselves as well as others • have developed appropriate interpersonal and coping skills
