Safeguarding the rights of all students
Dutchess BOCES prioritizes the education, health, and safety of all students as our top priority. A recent Executive Order has introduced changes to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security immigration enforcement. We recognize the heightened anxiety this may cause for some of our students and families.
Federal and state laws protect students’ personally identifiable information, which includes immigration status, citizenship, and national origin. Pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), this information may not be disclosed without parental/ guardian consent.
The Dutchess BOCES is committed to following all applicable federal and state laws.
Dutchess BOCES values our affirming and inclusive culture, and we encourage our community to show compassion, empathy, and kindness. We are thankful for your continued support and partnership, and together we will continue to provide an educational environment safe for our students, staff, families, and the entire BOCES community.
