Industry Spotlight: CTI delivers top quality hairdressers to Marion Salon and Spa

Ruge's Chevrolet's Joanne Holmes, Scarlett Stoner and Noah ScottEver since Marion Morris opened her eponymous salon in Salt Point in 1999, she has always provided opportunities to students who graduated from the cosmetology program at Dutchess BOCES’ Career & Technical Institute.

Student Spotlight: Hairdresser follows in grandmother's footsteps

Jordyn-Alyse Duncan puts a client's hair up.Jordyn-Alyse Duncan, a hairdresser at Marion Salon in Salt Point, knew she would take up the trade thanks to her grandmother who was always styling her and her siblings’ hair growing up. That inspiration led Duncan to enroll in Dutchess BOCES CTI cosmetology program during the 2017-2018 school year, following in her grandmother’s footsteps who also attended BOCES.

Participation requirements

Students must:

  • Have 95% attendance
  • A minimum grade of 80%
  • A teacher recommendation
  • Submit a resume
  • Complete and sign an internship paperwork packet
