Industry Spotlight: Ruge's partnership creates solutions in the auto industry

Ruge's Chevrolet's Joanne Holmes, Scarlett Stoner and Noah ScottRuge’s Auto Group is a third-generation business in Dutchess County with four locations and over 100 employees. Experts in auto sales and service, the group also supports the growth of the next generation by partnering with Dutchess BOCES Career and Technical Institute.

Student Spotlight: BOCES experience lifts students into automotive careers

Scott Stoner works on a vehicle at Ruge's Chevrolet.Noah Scott and Scarlett Stoner completed the Automotive Technology program at the Career and Technical Institute and were employed upon graduation at Ruge's Chevrolet. They were able to bring the skills they learned at Dutchess BOCES' CTI and through their work-based learning hours at Ruge's to the job.

Participation requirements

Students must:

  • Have 95% attendance
  • A minimum grade of 80%
  • A teacher recommendation
  • Submit a resume
  • Complete and sign an internship paperwork packet
