CTI Parent Resources

There are many on line resources available for parents. Here are a few that we have found useful. If you know of others that may be helpful for our parents, please contact me at mitchell.shron@dcboces.org.

Calling all Parents and Family Members! We need you for the CTI PTSO!

Career and Technical Education provides students a unique pathway to success. Data has proven that CTE students are less likely to drop out of high school and are more likely to gain a practical background in the skills that lead to a secure economic future. Students who complete a CTE program are also less likely to need remediation when they move on to college.

At CTI, we encourage the participation of parents and families in supporting quality Career and Technical learning. By joining the CTI PTSO, you can play an important role in enhancing your student’s learning experience.

At each meeting of the CTI PTSO, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Make connections with other CTI parents and families
  • Listen to guest speakers
  • Ask questions and learn more about your student’s program
  • Discover opportunities to expand your involvement in your student’s program
  • Join a network of support for Career and Technical Education

Our goal is to give parents and families a greater role in supporting their students’ learning at CTI, to provide a path of communication with home school parent organizations, and to elevate the vision of Career and Technical Education in Dutchess County.

We know that families are busier than ever these days, so we would only ask you to commit to whatever degree works for you. There are no dues, and the PTSO will develop a calendar of meetings that best suits its membership.

Please consider joining us as we build the Dutchess BOCES Career and Technical Institute Parent, Teacher and Student Organization.
