CTI Construction Jan 2022 Outside

Despite the cold weather, progress has continued on the new building that is part of the Capital Improvement Project, School Business Official Matt Metzger said.

The Career and Technical Institute’s new main office is complete with only a few punch list items remaining and some of the new floors were finished over winter recess.

“We were lucky that we were able to keep working through December,” Metzger said. But with the weather getting much colder and snow moving in, the conditions have made it more difficult for crews to continue work.

Supply chain issues and staffing shortages due to COVID-19 are also impacting the work schedule.

Decking board needed for the roof hasn’t been available.  Other work, therefore, must be delayed because interior work could be damaged by the elements and then would need to be redone.

“Once the roof is done we can move along pretty well,” Metzger said.
