Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jodi DeLucia speaks to staff before the start of schoolWe are excited to welcome our students, staff, and families back for the 2024-25 school year. Our entire BOCES community has spent the summer preparing, and the hustle and bustle of our school buildings is once again alive with the sound of our students engaged in learning. As you know, schools don’t have the same personality and character in the summer as they do when filled with children.
As we start the new year, I would like to thank our amazing team of administrators, teachers, and staff for supporting our essential summer learning programs. Students attended our Extended School Year, CTI Summer Experience and P-Tech Bridge Program, and we had more than 200 students from across the region take Regents exams with us this summer.  In addition, we hosted numerous professional development programs in our Conference Center aligning with Dutchess BOCES goals, growth and increasing the capacity of all staff. Our facilities and operations team members were hard at work over the summer making improvements and additions to the campus and it looks beautiful!
Students may see new faces this year as we added over 70 new employees since the beginning of last school year. We have updated many classrooms across campus with more active learning furniture, new flooring, campus paving and more.
Our building principals will continue to share school and building related information as we move forward. Our teams have worked hard to welcome our students and staff with a more consistent message, consistent paperwork and documentation, and expanded opportunities for parent engagement. We are excited to rollout our SchoolTool Parent Portal, in which parents and guardians will be able to see their child’s grades and other information. We have also focused on continuous improvement for a safe and welcoming campus and school environment for everyone in our care.
Our dedication to our students is our top priority. We look forward to engaging with all of our students across our programs to promote growth, learning, and emotional safety. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It is essential to our success and the success of our students. With the continued collaboration of our dedicated team of educators, our community partners, and our families, our students will surely have an amazing year.
