OSHA 10 and OSHA 30

Dutchess BOCES offers two OSHA Construction Safety Courses. OSHA 10 consists of two classes (five hours each) which complete this 10-hour course. OSHA 30 is a 30-hour course which consists of three-hour classes, meeting 10 times.

OSHA 10 HOUR CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY

This course provides entry-level construction workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a construction site. Taught by an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer, this course covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site. The course emphasis is on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. Participants MUST attend all sessions. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion and their OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health card.

OSHA 30 HOUR CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETY

This training is designed for supervisors and forepersons in the building and construction fields. Topics include crane, steel structure, and fire hazards and accidents such as major falls and electrocution.

Participants will learn to use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and how to predict and avoid hazards in the work environment.

Participants MUST attend all sessions to receive course credit. Following the 30 hours, participants will receive completion cards indicating they have taken and completed the OHSA 30 training.
