Dutchess BOCES students recently collected items to help women undergoing cancer treatment and chemotherapy.
“Bonnie Boxes” are hand-decorated shoeboxes that are filled with helpful items and little gifts to bring smiles to patients’ faces. Items include warm socks, lip balm, mints, ginger ale, graham crackers, puzzles, and get well cards.
Bonnie Rotker Acker and her son began the effort before she lost her brave battle with cancer. The community service project was completed through the Interact Club at Pawling High School.
