Lou Riolo is Dutchess BOCES new interim deputy superintendentOn Wednesday, the Dutchess BOCES Board of Trustees approved hiring Lou Riolo, a retired PNW BOCES assistant superintendent, to be the agency’s interim deputy superintendent during the search process. Riolo has significant BOCES experience and joins the agency as it moves forward on its journey of innovation, growth, and partnership.
Riolo will collaborate with District Superintendent Dr. Jodi DeLucia to support the agency's mission, participate in strategic planning initiatives, and assess the effectiveness of internal systems and structures.
Riolo has more than three decades of experience in education, having worked at Carmel High School as a teacher, department chair, and principal before assuming his role at PNW.
While there he supported special education programs, expanded career and technical education offerings, enhanced programming with state-of-the-art equipment, worked with the director of regional safety services to expand offerings, and implemented a one-to-one laptop initiative for staff and students.
He will start on Friday, March 14.
“Lou has generously and graciously agreed to come out of retirement for us as we complete our deputy search. We are really excited to have him join our team and thankful for the experience he brings. I know he is going to be  a great asset,” DeLucia said.
