Construction Technology with NCCER Core Certification

Adults learning construction techniques
Construction Technology provides learners with key knowledge and the principles of construction. Classes are a combination of textbook/classwork and hands-on opportunities to build an understanding of the entry-level skills necessary in the field. This course uses the basic core curriculum created by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Its modules cover topics such as basic safety, communication skills, and introductions to construction math, hand tools, power tools and construction drawings.

Classes are taught by a certified NCCER Core Instructor who has career experience working in the field of construction. Career Counselors will support students to learn about available careers in the field, develop resumes and interview skills and build professionalism throughout the course.

Industry Certifications

Students will earn two certifications:

NCCER Core Certification Certification in NCCER Core demonstrates the student has Basic Safety, Introduction to Construction Math, and Introduction to the following: Hand Tools, Power Tools, Construction Drawings, Basic Riggings, Basic Communication Skills, Basic Employability Skills, and Introduction to Material Handling. The Core Certification is a prerequisite and foundation for all other Level 1 craft courses.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training course is a vital educational tool that equips construction industry professionals with the knowledge and skills to work safely, reduce hazards, and promote a culture of safety in the workplace. This certification is a valuable asset for anyone involved in construction, ensuring they are well prepared to face the challenges and responsibilities of this dynamic industry. Completion of this course can also give a leg up to entry-level workers in construction to help obtain employment.
