Early Dismissal Drill Set For Nov. 25

Dutchess BOCES will be conducting an early dismissal drill on Tuesday, Nov. 25. This is an annual state requirement. Students will be dismissed no more than 15 minutes prior to their normal dismissal times and will be transported by their home school district. Please make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival of your children as a result of this drill.

A student in Christine Ciccone's class hands a card to U.S. Army veteran Jaimie Browne.In honor of Veterans Day, students at Dutchess BOCES’ Salt Point Center (SPC) spent Nov. 10 making colorful cards thanking the veterans for their service, while students in Christine Ciccone’s class got to ask a real life soldier about his experiences in the field.


Students Show Guidance Counselors What CTI Is About

Nursing students demonstrate how to get a patient into a wheelchair using a transfer belt.Guidance counselors from Dutchess BOCES’ component school districts learned about the Career and Technical Institute’s new EMT program and other new initiatives at the annual Counselor’s Meeting last week. It was also an opportunity to reacquaint them with other trade programs and services CTI offers.


Resilience Academy students help CTI students get organized

Resilience Academy students in April Hart's class are lending a helping hand to the Career & Technical Institute's Automotive Technology and Electrical programs by sorting out materials so students in those programs can find what they need much quicker. This project helped students in the Pegasus program develop life and work skills.


Students attend BOCES Expo

Some of Dutchess BOCES' Work-Based Learning students proudly represented the organization during the fall BOCES Expo on Monday in Albany. Quadir Wheeler-Kairee, Yarami Sartillo Gutierrez, and Johan Melchor Vasquez shared about their work-based learning experiences with many people, including officials from the New York State Department of Education.
