Kelly Felipe, a teacher at the Dutchess BOCES Salt Point Center, is a recipient of the SUNY Dean’s Award for Teaching. The School of Education at SUNY New Paltz established the Dean's Award for Excellence in teaching in 1984 to recognize outstanding teachers in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Deputy Superintendent Cora Stempel welcomed new and returning Dutchess BOCES staff members Tuesday, September 4th at the annual Convocation. More than 75 new employees joined the Agency for the 2018-19 school year. Board of Trustees President Edward McCormick was on hand to offer encouragement and well wishes on behalf of the Board.
On Wednesday August 29th, Superintendent Dr. Richard Hooley and his administrators welcomed over 70 employees to the BOCES team. The day’s orientation was filled with valuable information and activities designed to help new employees come together as they join “Team Dutchess BOCES”.
Exceptional high school students from across the county attended the Dutchess BOCES Summer Scholars Program and analyzed “The War in Vietnam after 50 Years” from political, historical, literary, and media perspectives.
The Extended School Year Program at the Salt Point Center serves students from all school districts who require a 12-month program.
