Learning Technology Services & Helpdesk
Dutchess BOCES offers a wide variety of technology services under the Learning Technology umbrella. The services afford school districts the means to offer a highly effective instructional program, while simultaneously achieving total infusion and integration of technology throughout their educational environments. A focal point for this service is a common set of learning standards that all participating districts agree to adopt and assess. Districts participating in Learning Technology services must also belong to the Model Schools Program (CoSer 542).
Among the various Learning Technology services are centralized web filtering, shared technicians reporting to districts, anti-virus protection, hardware/software maintenance agreements, network printer maintenance, and e-mail archiving. We also host Compass Learning, a comprehensive web-based instructional tool, supporting differentiated learning, RTI, and credit recovery.
All technology, including computer hardware, software, and courseware purchased through this service, will support the successful implementation of the New York State Education Department educational initiatives such as Learning Standards and related assessments as well as the new graduation requirements. Through Dutchess BOCES membership to a state-wide consortium, NYS Instructional Technology Contract Consortium (NYSITCC), component districts may purchase services from approved vendors at a discounted rate. Examples include, NWEA MAP, Acuity, Teachscape, AIMSWeb, and more. Technical assistance from one or more members of the Dutchess BOCES technical team members is also provided as part of the Learning Technology base service. To engage the technical team, participating districts should contact the Helpdesk.
